Shopify development for B2B and wholesale buying
Trade customers often need different pricing, account access and purchasing workflows from retail shoppers. A useful B2B implementation starts with how those buyers order and how your team manages the account.
I develop Shopify B2B and wholesale experiences, using native capabilities where they fit and adding integrations or custom code for defined gaps.
Start with your buying and operational rules
We review company accounts and locations, who can order, which products and prices each buyer sees, quantity rules, payment terms and any review or approval steps. Reordering and product selection should also reflect the way trade customers buy.
Those requirements guide the configuration and frontend work. They also identify where an app, external system or bespoke workflow is needed.
Native B2B, an app or custom development?
Shopify B2B is available across plans, but feature limits vary. For example, catalog limits and direct company-location assignment differ between standard plans and Plus. Some payment and advanced experience features also have specific eligibility.
We compare your requirements with the current plan features before recommending an upgrade or custom solution. An existing wholesale app may remain appropriate; custom development is justified by a real gap, not by calling every requirement “enterprise”.
Combine wholesale and retail—or keep them separate
A blended store can share administration while serving both customer types. A dedicated B2B store can provide a more separate experience but introduces additional management and integration work.
We review the product, pricing, content and operational requirements before choosing. The decision affects testing, data ownership and ongoing maintenance.
Connect B2B to your business systems
Where required, we scope connections for company, catalog, inventory or order data. The integration defines mapping, permissions, sync direction, exceptions and acceptance checks. Access and API capabilities must be verified before a particular workflow is promised.
Headless B2B and checkout extensions are possible project directions, but they add architecture and eligibility questions rather than being default inclusions.
Test different buyer states
A B2B release needs review of logged-out and logged-in behavior, assigned products/prices, company permissions, quantity and payment rules, order flows and retail behavior if the store is blended. The agreed scope determines which scenarios are included.
Wholesale questions
Do I need Shopify Plus for B2B? Not for every B2B feature. We check your actual requirements against current feature and plan limits.
Can wholesale be added to an existing retail store? Often, but account, catalog and operational requirements need reviewing before scope is agreed.
Can you connect our ERP? Share the system, available API, data requirements and constraints. Integration feasibility is confirmed rather than assumed.
Share your wholesale workflow
Tell me who orders, how prices and terms are assigned, which systems hold the data and what your team handles manually. We can then choose a practical approach.
For US projects, include your team’s time zone if it matters for reviews or meetings.
