Shopify Plus development and checkout extensibility

Work can involve checkout UI extensions, eligible Shopify Functions, branding configuration, customer-account extensions and integrations. These do not provide unrestricted access to checkout HTML or payment data; each has defined targets and capabilities.

UI extensions within the information, shipping and payment checkout steps require Shopify Plus. Other checkout-adjacent targets have different eligibility. Functions also depend on the API, distribution method and plan, so a feature is checked individually rather than promised on every store.

If an existing store still relies on unsupported checkout customisations, start with an inventory of their purpose and current behavior. Some requirements can be replaced with supported extensions or apps; others need simplifying or a different approach.

I scope the replacement against current Shopify guidance and the actual store. A migration is not a promise that every legacy modification will transfer unchanged.

Business rules may depend on product data, customer context, wholesale requirements or external systems. We identify those dependencies and the permissions and data flows involved before implementation.

The agreed test matrix covers applicable buyer states, products, shipping/payment options, discounts and supported checkout flows. Installation, merchant configuration, release responsibility and follow-up maintenance are included in the scope discussion.

Do all checkout changes require Plus? No. Eligibility is surface-specific. We check the exact target and requested behavior.

Can you change checkout without an app? Some settings are native; other work requires an eligible app or extension. The approach depends on the requirement.

Can you guarantee every old customisation can be recreated? No. Supported extension points and platform rules determine what is feasible.
