Connect Shopify to the systems your team relies on
When store data is copied manually or systems disagree, an integration can reduce repeated work—but only if the data and exceptions are defined properly.
I develop scoped Shopify integrations and automation around the workflow your team needs. The connection starts with ownership and rules, not a promise that every system can sync instantly.
Define the data and source of truth
We identify the systems involved, which records should move, the direction and frequency of sync, and which system owns each value. Products, inventory, customers and orders have different requirements and failure risks.
A useful brief explains what happens now, what should trigger the change and what your team needs to see when something goes wrong. Data volume, API access and vendor constraints affect the design.
Choose a connector, workflow or custom solution
An established connector or native automation may handle the requirement. Custom API work or an app is more appropriate when the available tools do not meet the rules, data or operational needs.
We review that decision alongside recurring costs, access and maintenance. Named ERP, CRM, fulfillment or accounting systems are assessed individually; their inclusion in an industry category is not evidence of universal compatibility.
Plan for exceptions, not only successful syncs
The agreed design addresses repeated events, missed updates, mapping errors and external rate limits. Testing and reconciliation are important when the integration affects stock, customer or order records.
The scope also defines security, permissions, logging, hosting where required and who responds to failures. A working demo is not a complete operating arrangement.
Release and handoff
We test representative records and failure scenarios, agree release responsibilities and document the data flow and dependencies. Monitoring and ongoing maintenance are specified rather than implied as unlimited support.
Integration questions
Can the connection be real-time? Required latency is discussed against the source systems, APIs and rate limits; “instant” is not a universal guarantee.
Can it be built without an app? It may be possible through native tools or a connector. The architecture follows the requirement and permissions.
What affects the estimate? Systems, objects, mapping, sync rules, data volume, authentication, error handling and support requirements all matter.
Share the current workflow
Describe the systems, manual steps, data owner, required change and known access constraints. We can assess the right solution and define what needs testing.
For US projects, include your team’s time zone if it matters for reviews or meetings.
